The ultrasound by phase arrays allows electronically controlling the ultrasonic beams both in angle and in focus, which allows a complete sweep of the areas to be inspected, generating an overlap of the different angles used. The arrangement consists of a series of elements that generate and receive high frequency mechanical waves independently, and that by delays in the time of their stimulation generate ultrasonic beams in the desired directions. In this way, superimposing all the angles that are generated electronically, images are produced that represent in a very precise way the interior of the material, as seen in the image below:

The equipment simultaneously allows you to observe sweeps such as Scan-A at any angle without the need to build additional special instruments.
